Dr. C. Stephen Evans is Emeritus University Professor of Philosophy and Humanities at Baylor University and Professorial Research Fellow at the Institute for Ethics and Society at the University of Notre Dame. His major areas of research include the philosophy of Kierkegaard, philosophy of religion, virtue ethics and meta-ethics. At Baylor he was named the Cornelia Marschall Smith Professor of the Year in 2018, the highest teaching award at the university.

After graduating from Northside High School in Atlanta, he received his BA from Wheaton College and his Ph.D. from Yale University.  While at Wheaton, he met and married Jan in 1969, and they have three grown children and two grandchildren. Dr. Evans’ published works include 20 single-authored books as well as five edited volumes.
